As always you bring up some interesting questions and comments, but I am not sure that you have critically thought about the concept in depth. For example, do we not learn for the present and the future from our past mistakes? Would that be enough reason alone to have taken the time to reflect upon them? While it is true that we can not change the past, I think we can learn from it. Reflection is a powerful tool from which to learn and grow. Without reflection we don't have the opportunity to truly delve into our thoughts, feelings and learnings.
