  1. You continue to have some interesting questions and though I don't have all the answers, I offer a few perspectives. Fortunately, electronic grade books have required passwords that teachers should be strongly protecting. Those who cannot manage to be vigilant about protecting their passwords would have the same problem preventing cheating in the non-digital world! That would make their ethics a bit questionable...

    I would agree that a variety of assessments is more beneficial for students than a single standardized test. And most teachers know and appreciate this, too! Unfortunately, politicians determined that it was important to make sure all students got the same assessment and the focus changed...though I do see the pendulum changing back to our way of thinking - slowly, but surely.
